Teacher Professional Development Resources
To help schools and districts take advantage of NSSME+ resources, we have developed a number of teacher professional development (PD) resources for 2-hour experiences that can be implemented on their own or integrated into broader PD programs.
The teacher PD resources address relevant topics and each includes a facilitator guide, slide deck, and participant handouts that can be adapted based on a user’s context, target audience, and learning environment (i.e., in person or online). The resources are organized by subject, and more will be added as they are developed.
District Self-Assessment and Reflection Tools
We have also developed a set of tools district leaders can use to assess current system-level factors that shape students’ access to high-quality science and mathematics education. Informed by research and key findings from the 2018 NSSME+, the subject-specific tools address multiple factors and include questions to support reflection and guide potential system-level improvements.
