Computer Science PD Resources

The K–12 Computer Science Framework, led by the Association for Computing Machinery, Code.org, Computer Science Teachers Association, Cyber Innovation Center, and National Math and Science Initiative in partnership with states and districts provides conceptual guidelines for computer science education in terms of what students should know and do. The computer science professional development resource below focuses on creating computational artifacts, one of the core computer science practices outlined in this framework.

Creating Computational Artifacts

During this two-hour session, teachers engage in various activities designed to deepen their understanding of the computer science practice of creating computational artifacts and what students do when engaged in creating computational artifacts. They further consider how often and in what ways computer science instruction should have students engage in this practice.
