For 50 years, the National Survey of Science and Mathematics Education (NSSME) has provided authoritative data about the education system in the U.S. This periodic study, funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation, is conducted by Horizon Research, Inc. Results have been widely disseminated and used extensively by researchers and policymakers. Horizon Research, Inc. is currently conducting the 2027 iteration of the study: the National Survey of Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering Education (NSSME+).
