focusing on how three important educational resources\u2014well-prepared teachers, material resources, and the nature of instruction (course offerings and instructional strategies)\u2014are currently distributed among K\u201312 science classrooms in the United States.<\/p><p>For this paper, data from the 2012 NSSME was examinedby five factors historically associated with differences in students\u2019 educational opportunities:<\/p><ul><li><p>Prior achievement level of the class<\/p><\/li><li><p>Percent of students historically underrepresented in STEM in the class<\/p><\/li><li><p>Percent of students in the school eligible for free\/reduced-price lunch<\/p><\/li><li><p>School size<\/p><\/li><li><p>Community type<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Download
