Knowledge Assets to Support the Science Instruction of Elementary Teachers (ASSET) is exploring a method for generating collective pedagogical content knowledge (C-PCK).\u00a0 This method will be tested in two content areas:\u00a0 (1) the small particle model for matter\u00a0and (2) interdependent relationships in ecosystems. \u00a0The two content areas were first\u00a0unpacked into key ideas.\u00a0 Literature reviews, surveys, and interviews with practicing elementary teachers and curriculum developers helped determine what is known in the field about teaching and learning of each of the key ideas, including common patterns of student thinking and successful instructional strategies. \u00a0We have arranged the C-PCK for these two topics\u00a0in a series of driving question pathways, accessible through this website.<\/p>\n
