R&D: Honing Diagnostic Practice: Toward a New Model of Teacher Professional Preparation and Development

The "Honing Diagnostic Practice" project is researching the obstacles teachers face in establishing a diagnostic learning environment in the context of Energy. The project is developing diagnostic classroom tools on Energy, as well as instruments to probe teacher understanding of: (1) content; (2) student ideas; and (3) instructional responses to formative student data. HRI serves as the external evaluator for the project.
