The teacher professional development logic model used by ATLAST predicts that teacher content knowledge affects student learning. However, many factors mediate this relationship, including teachers’ views/attitudes/beliefs. Although many kinds of attitudes shape teachers’ practice, ATLAST chose to focus on their views about effective science instruction. Over a period of two years, ATLAST developed a questionnaire to study these views.
