Aaron M. Weis

Aaron M. Weis, Research Associate, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Prior to joining HRI, he worked in the financial services sector.

Since joining HRI in 2004, Mr. Weis has been involved with quantitative data analyses using SPSS and HLM software. He has worked on a number of projects including: Assessing Teacher Learning About Science Teaching, an NSF funded research study; the Consortium for Advancement in Mathematics and Science, a partnership between the Merck Institute for Science Education, Kean University, Educational Testing Service, and four New Jersey school districts; e-Mentoring for Student Success, an NSTA project aimed at providing effective sustained professional development of novice teachers through content-specific, electronic mentoring; as well as AAPT's Rural Physics Teaching Resource Agents, a national-level physics-teacher enhancement project aimed at improving physics and physical science instruction in rural areas.

He is currently involved with the analysis of a longitudinal study on the impact of the Connected Mathematics curriculum on student achievement. He also is assisting in the analysis of the Science: It's Elementary initiative, aimed at improving elementary school science instruction throughout the state of Pennsylvania. He has provided support on the Math and Science Partnership Knowledge Management and Dissemination project.
