Melanie J. Taylor

Melanie J. Taylor, Research Associate at Horizon Research, Inc. (HRI), received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, PA. Prior to coming to HRI in 2004, she taught middle school science.

At HRI, Ms. Taylor works on the Assessing Teacher Learning About Science Teaching project, an NSF-funded research study. Her primary role on that project is to assist with the development of tools to assess teachers' and students' opportunity to learn in three areas of science: force and motion, processes that shape Earth, and flow of matter and energy in living systems. Ms. Taylor also assists in the Math and Science Partnership Knowledge Management and Dissemination project, another NSF-funded research study that aims to synthesize what the Partnership is learning and situate it in the broader education field.
