Horizon Research, Inc.'s offices provide a full range of office automation capabilities. Scannable questionnaires are created using the Design Expert software and are processed using Digital Imaging and Optical Mark Read (OMR) scanners. HRI maintains its own website for on-line data collection and information dissemination.
Statistical analyses are performed using SPSS, WesVar, and Amos which provide an extensive library of analysis techniques including the computation of standard errors. Qualitative analyses are performed using N6(NUD*IST) and HyperRESEARCH which allow for code-based retrieval and analysis of qualitative data.
HRI's networked computers use Windows 2000 Professional operating environment and Microsoft Office XP (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access). Peachtree Classic is used for accounting. Videoconferencing capabilities are available using Polycom FX.
HRI is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The company is centrally located among three major research universities: Duke University in Durham, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
